Haven’t done that in years. And it feels amazing. Today, 3 miles in 36 minutes, the first one at 10 minutes, 10 seconds. Not an accomplishment by Olympic standards, but a big deal for me. Running away from my life, running back to myself. Exercise is a vacation from my thoughts, it feels like I can file them away and get rid of excess clutter. Each minute I feel stronger instead of tired, my chest opens and I breathe everything in, good and bad. Taking control of what I can. I’m grateful for this life, this body that is healthy and strong, at least for now. No stopping or standing…full speed ahead, gonna make the most of August.
